17 апр. ICAP Bulgaria presents the second issue of the edition Bulgarian Business in Figures
ICAP Bulgaria presents in 2019 the second issue of the edition Bulgarian Business in Figures, including the summarized financial results of the companies in Bulgaria for the two-year period 2016-2017.
The aim of this initiative is to present the development of the companies operating in Bulgaria. In particular, Bulgarian Business in Figures provides data on the sectors of main economic activity, based on the published financial statements of 222.469 enterprises. In this context, it also presents the top 100 companies based on their turnover for 2017, as well as the 20 most profitable companies in each economic sector. At the same time, the publication contains useful macroeconomic and statistical data from official sources – Bulgarian National Bank, InvestBulgaria Agency, National Statistical Institute and others.
Theodoros Polydoros, Executive Director of ICAP Bulgaria stated:
“I am happy to note that during the period under review of the edition the Bulgarian economy is in a strong position. GDP growth has been rising since 2015, and production deficits have declined. The nominal value of Bulgaria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 2017 is estimated at 98.631 million., increasing by 3.6% compared to the previous year.
In the year 2017, the corporate sector saw a twofold growth in sales revenue amid a better management of operating costs and almost unchanging interest rates. This growth logically leads to a significant increase in profits generated.
On the other hand, the overall indebtedness of Bulgarian companies remains relatively high, but is mainly expressed in inter-company liabilities, with liquidity in the economy remaining at optimal levels.”
