Hara Nikolopoulou

Hara Nikolopoulou is a lawyer and a Director at the Directorate General for Competition of the Hellenic Competition Commission, responsible primarily, for the business sectors of banking, insurance and other financial institutions. She has more than 15 years of experience in practicing competition law and has handled cartel, abuse of dominance and merger cases in a wide range of industries. Prior to joining the HCC in 2011 Hara worked as a competition lawyer at the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission and in the competition practice group of law firms in Athens (KG Law firm) and Brussels (Paul Hastings LLP). She also worked as a trainee at the European Commission at the then DG for Transport and Energy (Competition and State Aid). Hara graduated from the School of Law of the University of Athens in 2000 and was admitted to the Athens Bar in 2002. She holds an LL.M in Corporate and Commercial Law from University College London and a Master of Science in Economics (Economic Regulation and Competition) from the Department of Economics of City University in London.
