Dr. Nicholas S. Magginas is the Chief Economist of the National Bank of Greece, Director of the Economic Analysis and Research Division and member of the Scientific Council of the Hellenic Bank Association. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Department of International and European Economic Studies, Athens University of Economics and Business. He has published extensively in market research reports, as well as, in academic journals such as the Journal of Monetary Economics, the International Journal of Central Banking, Economic Modeling and Economic Inquiry in the fields of monetary policy rules, the effect of bank lending channel in policy transmission and the role of expectations in the inflation process.
