Credit Risk in the age of Crisis Continuum
In an era of increased uncertainty, identifying, assessing and managing credit risk is a priority for all businesses.
This year’s Conference will focus on the following themes:
The Conference will be held in a hybrid format (physical presence at the ‘’Grand Hyatt Athens’’ hotel and online).
Under the Auspices of | ![]() |
The succession of crises at the international and national levels forms a complex macroeconomic and business environment picture. What instability conditions do borrowers, financiers, and market institutions have to cope with?
Climate change is the most drastic risk factor in the context of ESG sustainability in terms of the irreversibility of its effects. How does it prioritize and co-construct in the ESG framework the new corporate finance terms?
What are the opportunities and threats from the accelerating entry of new technologies into the economy, such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Automation and Robotics, Cyber Security Advances, Edge Computing, Headless Tech, “As-a-Service” Computing, Decentralized Finance? How do they affect finance’s availability, speed, and quality?
As the economy faces a series of interconnected risks in the context of ongoing crises, how necessary is access to legal audit information of companies and executives, international sanctions, and money laundering?
Workshop
The sustainability assessment of companies is usually based on the examination of their degree of compliance with ESG behavioral criteria. However, this picture ignores the possibility of ESG failure despite compliance as well as vice versa.
The workshop will present the ESG Failure Risk Rating methodology, developed by ICAP CRIF Credit Rating Agency, and discuss the results of company ratings from different sectors of the economy.

Credit Risk in the Age of ESG Sustainable Finance
Sustainable ESG finance is destined to redetermine the way we think about credit. Key driver is the component of credit risk attributed to ESG risks. A relationship which is expected to transform not only credit granting criteria, but also the formation of corporate and structured debt instruments. Creditors, investors, and policy makers alike are in search of a “greenium” in debt pricing, assessing new balances between macro-financial risks, required returns and policy objectives. Our ICAP CRIF 2022 Conference brings together leading market experts to address the challenge of sustainable finance in a practical decision-making context.
The Conference will be held in a hybrid format (physical presence at the Divani Caravel Hotel and online).
