Q1 2019: Declining Economic Climate Index in Greece

One in three CEOs believes that the recent increase in basic wages will negatively affect the competitiveness of the Greek businesses, while at the same time it states that Greece has not yet entered the path of recovery. In addition, nine out of ten CEOs believe that the degree of flexibility in the labor market in Greece is moderate to low.

At 156 units was the General Index of Economic Climate (ΕΑΣΕ/ICAP-CEO General Index)  formed in the first quarter of 2019, as reported by the 3-month survey carried out on a sample of 3,020 CEOs / General Managers of the largest Greek enterprises by the Association of Chief Executive Officers (EASE) in collaboration with ICAP. The survey was carried out between 15/03/2019 and 31/03/2019.
