We are pleased to announce that ICAP Cyprus, member of ICAP group of companies, the largest Business Information and Consulting Group in Southeastern Europe, succesfully organized the 1st Credit Risk Management Conference in Cyprus. The event took place on June 11th 2019, at the Hilton Park Hotel, Nicosia.
Through presentations of renowned international and local experts, the Conference provided insights on the trends and best practices in Credit Risk Management as well as the power of data in managing risk.
Besides the content-rich agenda, this premier event offers the opportunity to build a professional network and to share knowledge, experiences, ideas and information. It provided a dynamic environment to discuss future directions, best practices and stories on successful collaborations.

Dr George Christodoulakis is a member of the ICAP Board of Directors, an academic at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, a financial advisor and entrepreneur. He has served as the State Secretary for Asset Restructuring and Privatizations of Greece, Advisor to the Governor of the Bank of Greece, member of the Hellenic Corporate Governance Council, as well as an academic at Cass Business School of City, University of London. His expertise concentrates on credit and market risk, financial forecasting and regulation, he has published widely in research journals and books and has edited the book Managing Risks in the European Periphery Debt Crisis, Palgrave Macmillan 2015 and co-edited The Analytics of Risk Model Validation, Elsevier 2008 and the Journal of Risk Model Validation, Risk Journals 2006.
Christos joined Moody’s Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in April 2007. Previously, he worked as a portfolio manager investment advisor with a Cypriot investment bank.
He holds a BSc in Management (1st Class Honours) from the University of Manchester (UMIST) and an MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking (Distinction) from The ICMA Centre at the University of Reading. Christos is also a CFA Charter holder since 2006.
He is now the lead banking analyst for Cyprus, Jordan, Kenya, Mauritius and for a portfolio of financial institutions in Saudi Arabia
George Sotiropoulos is the Chief Executive Officer of Cycle Credit, the leader in Receivables Management and Debt Collection, with presence in Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia; Cycle Credit is a member of ICAP group of companies and today accounts more than 20 years of experience, with over 200 employees and 5 million euros in Revenues. Before joining Cycle Credit, George was the Head of Strategy, Policies and Programs in PQH, the Single Special Liquidator assigned by Bank of Greece to manage all credit and financial institutions (17 in total) under special liquidation in the country. George has been the Risk Mitigation Head and Head of Credit Cards in Citibank International plc for 10 years and the Consumer Liabilities Head in Bank of Cyprus. With a round and complete financial and credit expertise, George combines a solid commercial profile as well, given his career initiation as Marketing Manager in L’Oréal. Since 1995, he is a visiting lecturer of Strategy and Business in the Hellenic American University.
He holds a BSc in Economics, Athens University and an MBA degree, Cardiff Business School, University of Wales, UK.
Haris Linardakis is the IBM cloud leader, Greece and Cyprus since 2015. Within his role, he is helping enterprises of all sizes in Greece and Cyprus to assess cloud readiness, develop cloud adoption strategies and power their digital transformation. Throughout his career in IBM, he held business development positions in global technology services and enterprise business unit. As a professional, he is committed to deliver business value through technological advancement and innovative thinking. His main interests include cloud platforms and services, business analytics, internet of things, cognitive applications and agile application development.
Haris’ academic background includes electrical and computer engineering degree and a PhD degree in telecommunications, both from the National Technical University of Athens. He has published and participated in research programmes in the area of medium access control protocols in Optical Networks.
Myrto Kyriakidou is Executive Director of the Credit Risk Services at ICAP SA, and responsible for the function of ICAP as a Credit Rating Agency.
Prior to ICAP, she was Director of the Portfolio Analytics Department of Qualco, leading a team of experts who evaluated and designed credit & collections strategies, based on data mining findings and risk modelling. She has held a Risk Analytics consultancy position at National Bank of Greece (NPL Division), contributing to the improvement of Credit and Collections processes. As Head of Statistical Decisions Hellas, she analyzed and evaluated credit portfolios for leading Retail Banks. Her first position was actuary at Interamerican Property & Casualty Insurance Company S.A.
Born in 1971 in Athens. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Statistics and Insurance Science Department from the University of Piraeus and honored with MBA from HENLEY MANAGEMENT COLLEGE in UK with direction in the Finance Strategy. He started his career in the Finance Department of SCA HYGIENE PRODUCTS S.A. as Chief Accountant in 1998 and from 2000 is servicing in the Credit Insurance Industry. Initially he worked in Gerling Kreditversicherung AG and further in ATRADIUS CREDIT INSURANCE N.V. as Commercial Manager. He participated in many multinational projects in the Group for the Greek Branch. For a short period in 2005 he worked in the LOGICOM Group in Athens as CFO. Then he continued his career in EULER HERMES HELLAS S.A. as Broker Manager. He had also the role of the project manager and trainer for the New EH Commercial Tool about Greece. Since 2014 and up today he is working for COFACE Group responsible for the Business Development Group’s Activities in Greece and Cyprus, as Commercial Manager.
Claudio Sangiorgi joined CRIF in 2016 with the responsibility for Business Development in Europe; during these years he brought CRIF’s value proposition from Nordic Countries to Mediterranean Region and he has been directly involved in several Digital Innovation Projects including Digital on Boarding and Origination, Collection, Leasing and Dealer Financing. During his career in different Companies, from start-up to very large corporation, has always held customer facing roles that allowed him to understand client’s needs and propose right technologies as enablers to support process innovation and business transformation. In particular, in recent years, he has been focused on Credit Lifecycle, Analytics and IOT in various sectors, from Banking to Utilities, from Distribution to Manufacturing.
Mr. Michaelides is a partner at Scordis, Papapetrou & Co LLC. He has a law degree from the University of Bristol in the UK and has been practicing as an advocate since 1999. His areas of practice are international commercial litigation, arbitration, commercial and corporate law, regulatory, governance and compliance.
Mr. Michaelides has served as President of the Limassol Bar Association from January 2012 until September 2017. Since 2012 he is a member of the Board of the Cyprus Bar Association, which is the supervisory authority of lawyers for the purposes of the AML legislation.
