Valentin LAZEA is the Chief Economist of the National Bank of Romania, as well as the President of CA TransFonD S.A. He is also a founding member and President of the Steering Committee of the Romanian Economic Policy Center (CEROPE). He attended advanced training courses at prestigious institutions, such as: IMF Institute, Washington D.C., USA; Sussex University, Brighton, UK; Instituto Giordano dell’Amore, Milan, Italy.

He also participated in technical assistance programs for the National Forecasting Commission, the Ministry of Finance and the Cabinet of the Prime Minister, financed by PHARE funds, between 2001-2007.
