PRESS RELEASE
The Future of the Management of the Credit Risk, on debate at the Conference that ICAP CRIF dedicates every year to the companies in Romania
Bucharets. May 23, 2024. The most important event designed by ICAP CRIF and dedicated exclusively to the complex issue of credit risk management takes place today, May 23, 2024, in Bucharest, with the central theme being the impact of ESG directives on credit risk. ESG Impact on Credit Risk: Navigating the Challenges is an extremely important topic in the light of the new ESG regulations, and the conference dedicated to it reaches its 15th edition this year, demonstrating the value brought to the Romanian business community.
“Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) regulations are not just a trend, they are a strategic imperative and they will prove to be integral to all business models. They influence credit risk, they shape our strategic decisions, and impact our long-term sustainability. So the decision to put ESG at the center of our credit risk conference, this year too, only comes naturally. As our speakers are clearly pointing out in their presentations and speeches, aligning all operations with ESG principles means not only fulfilling social responsibilities but also enhancing the risk management capabilities”, says Nikitas Konstantellos, President and CEO, ICAP CRIF group of companies.
The 15th Credit Risk Management Conference organized by ICAP CRIF Romania is also the 60th of its kind organized in the ICAP CRIF group of companies, in the countries in which it operates (Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus) and the first of its kind this year.
The experts invited on stage by the organizers discuss today the trends and innovations that will shape the future of credit risk management, industry ratings (sector ratings), the macroeconomic climate, the role of credit insurance in the era of ESG transition, the future of risk of credit in the era of AI and Advanced Analytics and the impact of climate change on credit risk. The subject of the relevance of know your counterparty in credit risk management (KYC) and the influences of ESG regulations on supply chain management and financing opportunities are debated in the second part of the day.
“We have, this year too, both in Bucharest and in Sofia and in Athens, impressive line-ups of internationally recognized experts sharing their knowledge and insights on the challenges and opportunities that current ESG regulations bring to credit risk. The interest of the industry is obvious: the number of participants in the hall is much higher than expected, right from the first hour”, states Theodoros Polydoros, Executive Director, ICAP CRIF Romania and Bulgaria.
