Sophia Kassidova is the Head of Strategy and Development at the Bulgarian Development Bank. Sophia held successive roles as a vice-minister of economy and vice-minister of transport in the 2001-2005 government of Bulgaria, led by Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, and as the CFO of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank.

In the past she held various roles in commercial banking, worked in the CEE coverage team at CSFB in Prague and in a private equity industry.

She holds a post graduate diploma in financial strategy from Oxford University Said Business School, a master’s degree in Finance and Banking from Reading University and a master’s degree in Economics from the Central European University.

She is fluent in English, Greek, Russian and uses Check language.
